A husband and wife duo from Southport are lighting up the world with their new business.
Jan and Steve Clayton, who run festive decorations and lighting company IllumiDex UK Ltd from their base in Burscough, are celebrating after a bumper year which has seen them create awe inspiring displays in Southport and around the UK.
Jan and Steve have been manufacturing large scale Christmas Decorations in their family engineering company SC Wrought Iron Designs Ltd for the past 5 years creating beautiful bespoke decorations for Christmas Decorations companies around the UK.
Their work can be seen from the Bethlehem Christmas Tree to a blockbuster movie premier in LA!
Having formed their new company in early 2019, the spotlight is now firmly on Steve and Jan who have recently completed the first year of a major project in their hometown, installing tens of thousands of lights, displays and an incredible 16 metre state of the art LED Pixel Christmas tree in Southport for the 2019 Christmas festivities.
Lighting up their hometown remains one of the couple’s proudest achievements, who began five years ago working with a well-known and established Christmas Decoration Company to manufacture and create a number of bespoke steel designed decorations for the town’s historic streets and Lord Street roundabouts.
Over the five years the pair worked tirelessly to help create winter wonderlands far and wide, manufacturing hundreds of commercial Christmas decorations before forming their own festive lighting and installation company, IllumiDex UK Ltd, in March 2019.
Among the company’s countless designs, they manufactured the star for the enormous Christmas tree in Manger Square, Bethlehem and were commissioned to design a bespoke tree for the premiere of Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Grinch in Los Angeles.
Steve said: “It truly has been our dream to open our own Christmas Decorations and lighting and installation company and we are especially delighted, among our many successes, to have been given the contract to light up the entirety of our hometown of Southport.
“All our decorations are manufactured locally, employing family and people from around the resort and we even have two fantastic young apprentices from Southport College who have worked so hard to help make Southport a winter wonderland this Christmas.”
