A campaigner from Southport has been nominated for a prestigious national award for her work online.
Kirsty Jade, Known as KJ to her thousands of followers online, is a deaf activist who fights for the rights of those with hearing impairments across the country.
Kirsty, who lives in Southport, has now been nominated for an ITV National Diversity Award in the ‘Positive Role Model’ category.
Kirsty said “I’m a deaf activist and have been fighting for deaf rights within society and education for a long time.
“I’m only 19 and currently studying at university but dedicate my spare time to running a YouTube channel to raise awareness.”
Kirsty will now go up against a number of other nominees in the hope of being shortlisted for the Award later this year.
