Damien Moore MP met with new Superintendent, Matthew Boyle, and Inspector Graham Fisher at Southport Police Station.
In the meeting, Damien discussed the matter of policing across the Southport constituency, the increasing number of concerns surrounding town centre police visibility, and the recent robbery on a jeweller on Lord Street.
Constituents often raise their thoughts and comments about local policing and crime and Damien has regular meetings with Southport and Merseyside Police to talk about public security and to raise specific issues on behalf of residents which have remained unresolved.
Damien Moore said:
“My constituents often contact me about their concerns regarding policing and public safety and I therefore meet with Southport police on a regular basis to discuss their local effectiveness and crimes committed.”
“I appreciate those meetings as they provide me with an important insight into the work the police service does and it keeps me informed about crimes in my area. Additionally, it allows me to speak directly with senior Officers about specific crimes that have been committed and raised with me in my capacity as the MP.”
Southport Police Station is open 8am – 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8am-5pm on Sundays and is located on Albert Road, Southport, PR9 0LL.
