Burglaries

Between the 14th and the 27th October burglaries or attempted burglaries have taken place in the following locations:

Warwick Street, Kirklees Road, Chambres Road, Kingston Crescent(shed and garage), Gordon Street, Maple Street (outbuilding), Manchester Road, Cardigan Road, Everard Road, Folkestone Road, Shellfield Road

Attempted burglaries 4, Properties left insecure 3, Car keys and vehicles stolen 2

Warning

Recently burglaries have occurred in both business premises and residential properties, where upper floor windows and skylights have been left open or unlocked. Burglars use various means to reach these windows, such as flat roofed extensions, ladders left out at properties, or they may climb up drainpipes or even cables that are near an open window to gain entry to a property.

To ensure the security of your building, make certain all windows are closed and locked. Most insurance companies will not pay out on a claim if all windows and doors in a property are not closed and locked
