Two incidents have been reported in Southport.
- A young man called at a house at about 1pm and asked if there were any jobs he could do for the resident, he stated his girlfriend who was standing on the pavement outside the property, had been out since 6 o’clock and had only made £1. He then asked if the householder had any spare cash to give him. He was described as slim about 5’8 in height, he had a beard and his hair was mid brown in colour. His girlfriend was slim about 5’6” to 5’7” in height with mid brown/dark blonde, shoulder length hair.
- A young girl approached another resident when she was in the front of her property and asked if she wanted any painting and decorating done. She had no equipment with her.
Both residents felt the incidents were suspicious.
Crime Prevention Tip
Please ensure the external doors to your property are locked. Remember lifting up the handle does not lock the door, it is only securely locked when the handle has been raised and the key turned. Completing these two moves could stop you from becoming the victim of an opportunist burglar.
