Couple have lucky escape from ditch crash

A couple have had a lucky escape after skidding in ice and smashing into a ditch this morning in Southport

A red hatchback was travelling down the notorious Wyke Lane when the driver lost control and spun out.

The occupants managed to get out of the car and avoided serious injuries after the crash near to Old Links shortly after 9am.

A recovery crew has been called to drag the car out of the ditch
