At the close of the second day of the LV County Championship Division Two fixture at Trafalgar Road, Lancashire trail Derbyshire by 22 runs with 6 wickets in hand.
Starting the day on 335-9, Derbyshire managed to reach 370 thanks to some late heroics from Wigan’s Matt Critchley who hit 41, with Kyle Jarvis the most successful Lancashire bowler with 4-132, with Northern’s Tom Bailey taking 3-73.
In reply, Lancashire soon lost the early wickets of Paul Horton and Karl Brown, before former South African Test batsmen Alviro Petersen (113) and Ashwell Prince set a new county record against Derbyshire with a 258 run 3rd wicket stand, at the close of play Lancashire were 348-4 with Prince unbeaten on 156 and Lytham’s Alex Davies still there on 28.
Play is due to start at 11am tomorrow morning and for those wanting to go along tickets can be purchased on the gate.
