Council shut coast road just as lockdown lifts

Chaos is set to ensue on the coast road from next week after the council decided to shut part of the busy highway.

Thousands of people need the access to Southport and Ainsdale beach after they were told by Boris Johnson they could lift lockdown measures and get fit on the resort’s sands.

But now any plans of making g it to the beach have been scuppered by Sefton Council who want to close the coast road between Pontins and pinfold lane for a staggering 4 weeks.
