Council left to clean up after lazy littering tourists

A very busy morning on the Sefton coast after a scorching Bank Holiday weekend.

Despite rangers working throughout the three-day break, there were still large amounts of rubbish to tackle, so we all hit the beach early this morning with litter-pickers and a copious supply of binbags at the ready.

Below is what was left in Ainsdale, there were crews working everywhere doing the same job.

Thanks too to all the members of the public who offered to help out with the big clean-up.

While many folk made an effort to leave rubbish by bins over the weekend (the ones on Ainsdale beach were emptied ten times yesterday alone), can’t help wondering why if people bring all this stuff in their vehicles in the first place, they can’t take it home with them too…

A big thanks to all the team from #Sefton Council, rangers and Natural Alternatives crew (and of course the teams from landowners all along the coast) who turned out to tidy up someone else’s rubbish again.
