Council to cut library job numbers

26th July 2018

Sefton Council is looking to reduce the number of staff working at its libraries – but bosses maintain the overall library service will be maintained.

A regular user of Sefton libraries says he fears the library service, could suffer as a result.

The man, who does not want to be named said he had heard staffing numbers at Sefton librar- ies are to be reduced to 1.2 per library, meaning that one staff member will be permanently on site with a manager overseeing five libraries at a time.
