The next boss of Sefton Council will be on an eye watering salary higher than that of the UK’s Prime Minister.
Outgoing Chief Executive Dwayne Johnson will see his replacement be paid £170,000 a year, £5,000 more than that of Rishi Sunak.
The post requires just 36 hours of work a week.
The figures were revealed as part of a job advert to recruit a new chief executive for the cash strapped council.
Salaries at the top jobs in the authority are considerable, with five Sefton Council executive directors being paid just over half a million in total per year.
Addressing their pay structure in 2022, a report by the local authority said the high paying roles are necessary due to increasing demands across a number of areas, including children’s social care and education and adult social care.
