A staple of Southport’s town centre hospitality sector is now looking for new management.
Rueter’s Bar & Grill, owned by Punch Breweries, are looking for a new managing tenant to take over the Hoghton Street building in 2021.
However the salary may put off most seasoned publicans with just under £14,000 a year being offered in payment.
A spokesperson for Punch said “Rueters Bar and Grill is a fantastic community pub that’s traditional interior provides a relaxing and warm atmosphere. The pub is made up of a cosy bar area to the front and a large restaurant to the rear which has up to 80 covers and is a perfect space for functions. The pub is famous for their quality food offer, that is full of pub classics with a twist, as well as their extensive drinks range.
“The Rueters also boasts a hidden courtyard and a terrace at the front of the pub that is a beautiful place for some al fresco dining or to enjoy a cask marque accredited ale in the sunshine. The pub is famous amongst locals for its weekly live entertainment with it being known as the place to be to enjoy fabulous tribute acts.
