Southport’s Labour MP Patrick Hurley is calling on local residents to take part in his latest initiative – The Big Conversation 2025.
Described as a wide-ranging listening exercise, the campaign invites Southport constituents to share their views on the national and local issues that matter most to them.
The survey, which is being distributed to homes across the town and is also available online, asks residents to rank key national priorities including the cost of living, healthcare, jobs, housing, and climate change. It also probes into local concerns such as access to NHS services, anti-social behaviour, support for young people, and protection of parks and green spaces.
In a statement accompanying the launch, Mr Hurley said: “The big national issues affect all of us here in Southport, from the cost of living and access to healthcare to protecting the environment and creating good jobs. That’s why I want your voice at the heart of the conversation.”
He hopes the responses will help shape his priorities both locally and in Westminster.
The survey also gives residents a chance to suggest community organisations the MP should visit, share what they love most about Southport, and highlight one thing they would change about the area.
Responses are being collected online at patrickhurley.uk/petitions and require a name, postcode, and email address to confirm eligibility.
With Parliament returning from Easter recess and major national decisions looming on NHS reform, cost-of-living measures, and climate commitments, Mr Hurley’s team says it’s a key moment to get input directly from residents.
