A Southport woman embroiled in the middle of a financial corruption scandal at a local football club says her life has been ruined
The woman, who OTS News has chosen not to identify helped run Phoenix FC with her husband says she is aware of rife rumours across the community following reports they were arrested in an investigation to disappearing funds.
The accused said “Firstly I want to say that my husband has saved me.
“Over the last 3 years I have struggled mentally in a way nobody will ever understand.
“ I ran away in May because I had spent every penny Simon and I had plus some of the money for the building at Russell Road.
“Not all of it as people are saying!!
“I want to be clear that not a single penny of the kids subs has ever been touched.
“In November I confessed everything to the police.
“This message may well mean that you will be disappointed and perhaps even angry but when the rumour mill is in over drive, I wanted to tell you myself.”
