Community Commemoration a “moving tribute to those who died”

Over 300 people attended the Trinity Arts WW1 Community Commemoration on Saturday 10 November, experiencing artwork, real life stories, poetry, multi media reports and an amazing array of floral tributes.

The event at Holy Trinity Church Southport took six months to organise and was only possible thanks to members of the public who contributed their families’ stories.

Comments included, “excellent exhibition,”, “a great example of the community working together” and “a very interesting and moving tribute to those in WW1 who fell.”

Bob Ball, of Trinity Arts, said, “This commemoration has helped us to remember that every name on every memorial was a real person, just like us. We would like to thank everyone who took part in the event, and everyone who came. It’s been a truly inspirational day.”
