COMEDIAN Rob Brydon to visit Southport Theatre this Friday

COMEDIAN Rob Brydon visits Southport Theatre this Friday (December 1) at 8pm with his new show, I Am Standing Up.

Rob Brydon’s credits read like a compendium of modern British comedy with such titles as Gavin and Stacey, Would I Lie To You?, The Trip as well as Marion and Geoff, Human Remains, Little Britain and The Rob Brydon Show. Now this multi award-winning writer and performer is back on tour with an evening of new stand up comedy, cementing his status as a multi-talented and incredibly funny man.

Rob Brydon was born in Swansea, South Wales on May 3 1965. He studied acting at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama before joining BBC Wales as a radio and television presenter. Moving to London in the early ’90s he worked as a voice over artist and made occasional appearances on television and in film, before coming to the public’s attention in 2000 with the shows Marion and Geoff and Human Remains, winning British Comedy Awards for both.

In addition to his varied comedy appearances, he has also appeared in several dramas, on radio, and is known for his versatile voice, providing voiceovers and character voices for animations including The Gruffalo and Robbie The Reindeer: The Legend Of The Lost Tribe.

In 2009, alongside Ruth Jones, Robin Gibb and Sir Tom Jones, Rob reached number one in the charts with the single Islands In The Stream, in aid of Comic Relief.

The producers of the night have said that this show is “full of hilarious stories, abundant with quick witted audience interaction, fast paced humour, improvisation and the most amazing impersonations, I Am Standing Up is a show that is sure to delight old and new fans alike”.
