Coastal road closed after 3 vehicle crash, Ainsdale

Traffic has ground to a standstill on the Coast road after a driver blamed low sun for a three vehicle pile up.

Police and emergency services have closed off part of the coast road near to the caravan park after the crash which happened just before 9am this morning.

The driver of a transit van which collided with the rear of a truck was lucky to escape without serious injury after the front of the van caved in from the impact.

Emergency services treated a number of people for shock but none were taken to hospital.
Drivers are asked to avoid the are for the remainder of the day.
