Local Football Club bosses have joined a national charity’s call for parents to make a special promise to keep their children safe in sports.
a survey conducted by the NSPCC YouGov recently revealed that just under a third of parents with children active in sport would not know who to turn to if they had safeguarding concerns.
Now chiefs at the Haig Avenue club have joined the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children to ask parents to sign the NSPCC’s Sports Parents Promise, to help them choose a safe club for their children and ensure they have a positive influence when participating from the sidelines.
