Citizens advice warn of Western Union scam

Citizens Advice Southport are warning people who get the following email to delete it immediately.

The email reads: ‘We wish to inform you that you are one of seven email beneficiraies of the sum of $1,500,000.00 USD in the on-going UN Humanitarianaid/Poverty Alleviation programme.

‘The United nations Organisation has deposited your funds with us at Western union Payout Centre in Malaysia and they have contratced us to take full responsibility for the transfer process of the funds to all seven beneficiaries.

‘They have now ordered us to take full responsibility in the transfer process of your funds and thus commence remittance of your funds to you. Be strongly informed that because of our transfer policy, your funds will be paid to you via our Western Union Daily Transfer limit of $7,600 USD.

‘Thi means you will continuously receive a daily amount of $7,600 USD from us, and the amount can be collected from our numerous outlets in your location.

‘To begin to receive your daily payment as stated above we need your Full Name, Address and Phone Number.’
