Churgate closed after hazardous chemicals found

Merseyside Fire And Rescue Service were called to an address on Churchgate, churchtown today after a resident clearing out his shed found white powder – thought to be Cyanide.

The resident called the emergency services to ask for advice and they arrived and cordoned off the area until the Hasmat unit arrived.

There was no threat to neighboring houses.
