Is this children’s playground the most depressing in Southport?

Parents have slammed a grotty playground in Birkdale saying they’d rather have an afternoon playing with their children in post fall out Chernobyl.

Compton Road park in Birkdale has been slammed in a number of messages sent to OTS news because of how bad it looks.

Rusty swings, overgrown grass and damaged play equipment is a ‘health hazard’ said concerned mum Lydia Seaton.

She said: “it’s a disgrace and looks like something from the Cold War.

“I would like to take my kids there but I fear they could catch something or cut themselves in the rust.

“The council need to do something about it”
