Child rushed to hospital after Marine Drive collision

A young child is in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car on the coast road.

Police have closed off Marine Drive after a five year old boy was hit by a car, Monday 22 April 2019.

His condition is believed to be serious and he has been rushed to Alder Hey after being treated by paramedics at the scene.

The cause of the accident is not yet known and police are expected to issue a statement shortly.
