There was a lot to celebrate on Friday when two of Southport’s most loved charities came together to celebrate the official opening of Queenscourt Hospice’s newest shop.
Staff and volunteers from Queenscourt were joined by representatives from the Little Theatre Southport and Southport Dramatic Club at the Bispham Road £2 discount shop for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Bispham Road Shop Manager, Neil Capel, said: “We are delighted to have now officially opened our new store and would like to thank the Little Theatre Southport and the Southport Dramatic Club for all of their support.
“Our shops provide a vital stream of funding for Queenscourt, but we couldn’t operate them without our band of dedicated volunteers. We are always on the look-out for more people to join our retail team so if you have some time to spare and fancy getting involved, then please, get in touch.”
Lynne Hawksworth, Director of Southport Dramatic Club’s forthcoming show Curtain Up, said: “We are honoured to have officially opened Queenscourt’s new shop at Bispham Road.
Southport Dramatic Club has a long and proud history in Southport and we really welcome the opportunity to support Queenscourt in this way, as the hospice makes such a positive difference in the local area.”
