Individuals and teams from across Lancashire come together to celebrate the achievements of healthcare staff at Lancashire Care’s tenth annual Staff Awards ceremony!
Over 350 NHS staff came together to recognise and celebrate their achievements at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s annual Staff Awards ceremony that was held last week in Blackpool.
The event is held each year and provides an opportunity for staff to cheer on their colleagues who are been nominated for one of 13 categories. For the second year running, the awards also saw the return of the Amazing Care Award that was nominated and voted for by members of the public.
Heather Tierney-Moore, Chief Executive at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“We have seen the Staff Awards grow in popularity each year and this year was certainly no exception. This year was particularly special as it was the tenth celebration and my last celebration as the Chief Executive of Lancashire Care. As ever, it was a fantastic night full with fun and enjoyed by everyone who attended. The event really highlights the dedication our staff exhibit every day in providing high quality, compassionate care to all of our service users, patients, their families and carers. It is also a great way to remember and celebrate the achievements of our staff and highlight the great work from the past year.
“As always, the standard of nominations was very high and everyone who was nominated should be extremely proud of their work and those who received an award this year are fine examples of just some of our staff who go above and beyond in their roles.”
David Eva, Chair at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust added:
“The evening was a huge success and it was so inspiring listening to each and every one of the videos which told the stories of the shortlisted nominees. This year’s awards was special in that it was the tenth year of holding the event and also Heather Tierney-Moore’s last as Chief Executive. It is fair to say that the atmosphere in the room was electric and I am so pleased that we can bring our staff together and honour the excellent work that occurs around Lancashire on a daily basis.
“It was also a fantastic opportunity on this occasion for staff to show their appreciation for all that Heather has done while at the Trust and the standing ovation given to her was a really heart felt tribute from us all.”
Winners were awarded trophies and there was also recognition for colleagues who just missed out on a winning spot but who still deserved a special mention. The event was held at The Village Hotel, Blackpool and was sponsored by Carefoot, Cube, Cygnet Healthcare and the Oak Group.
