CCTV APPEAL following Southport burglary

Merseyside Police are appealing for witnesses after a residential property was burgled early last month.

The incident is reported to have happened on the 1st March just before 7pm on Arlington Close, Southport.

The occupiers were away on holiday when the offender/s forced their way into the property by smashing the rear patio door. Luckily, nothing has been reported to have been stolen.

Sergeant Ian Allum from Southport Community Police Team said: “The offender/s have shown little regard for the victim themselves and for their property and although it appears that nothing was taken during the burglary, this is still a crime which needs to be pursued and investigated.

“The victim is quite rightly upset by the whole ordeal and feels vulnerable in their own home. We want to do everything we can to reassure them and the wider public that we’ll not tolerate this or any criminal activity.

“We therefore need your help to identify the people in the CCTV images as we believe they could hold crucial information to help solve this crime and bring justice where we can to those involved.”

Anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem is urged to report via @MerPolCC or call 101 quoting crime ref: 18200047831.
