Car lodged in garden wall after collision with HGV

POLICE are currently desperately trying to unblock Upper Aughton Road after a major crash this morning, Wednesday 17 April 2019.

A HGV is now blocking the junction after a car in front smashed into a nearby wall and spun out of control.

Traffic has ground to a halt as vehicles are struggling to turn around on the narrow street.

It’s not believed that anybody has suffered serious injuries but paramedics are also on scene.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area while the collision is cleared.

An update from Merseyside Police on the closure is expected later.
