Car lands on roof in Lord Street bus collision

Police have closed off St George’s Parade near Lord Street after a bizarre crash this afternoon.

A Renault ended up on its roof face if the wrong way outside the Prezzo Italian restaurant near the junction of London Street after reportedly being hit by a bus.

Police have closed off the the side section of Lord Street and traffic is being diverted while an investigation into the cause of the incident takes place.

The driver of the car remains on scene cooperating with police enquiries and appears unharmed.

Lord Street’s main road remains fully open.

Witness statements are being sought and camera footage from the bus has been taken for analysis.
