Can anyone install Perfect Fit blinds?

8th February 2023

The installation of a blind has never been an easy task for the average homeowner, which is why there are so many blind installers who will gladly do the job for you. But times are changing and innovative new products have reached the market which put blind installations within the reach of an average person with limited DIY experience.

Handling the installation will save some money and provide you with a sense of achievement. The easiest type of blind to install is a perfect fit blind.

Standard blinds must be assembled and drilled into the wall or window recess. Trying to complete this task whilst also ensuring the blind is positioned perfectly above the window is challenging. A number of tools are also required and a certain level of DIY skill.

The installation process

Perfect fit blinds make the whole process much simpler. You don’t need DIY expertise or equipment. You won’t need to drill anything into the walls.

All you need to do is measure the window or door correctly and provide your measurements to a reputable manufacturer. Once your new blind arrives, you may have to assemble the frame. If you order Yewdale Perfect Fit® blinds, their production specialists will assemble the frame before dispatching it, meaning you won’t have to do it.

Perfect fit blinds connect directly to the uPVC window or door, not the wall above. You will be supplied metal brackets which you need to slide inside the rubber seal of the window or door. Don’t worry, this won’t cause any damage. If it’s struggling to go in, pop some washing up liquid on the bracket as a lubricant.

Once you have inserted the four brackets, you hold the frame up and align the slots in the frame with the brackets. The blind will click into place and the brackets will hold the blind securely.

Yewdale’s Perfect Fit pleated honeycomb blind is designed with two layers of fabric which are joined together to create honeycomb cells. These smalls cells trap air inside and provide great insulation during winter and help to trap heat in summer, keeping the room cooler.
