Campaigners call for hotel owners to let homeless inside

There are increasing calls for hoteliers and the council to open up buildings for the homeless.

There are at least thirty homeless people in Southport sleeping rough and some have even taken to kipping in the doorway of a yet to be opened luxury hotel to shelter from the cold.

Now worried residents are asking hotel, B&B owners and the council to do more.

Worried campaigner Rhiannon Finlay emailed OTS News to say “more really needs to be done to help these poor people they don’t want to be there and they shouldn’t.

I think the MP has done nothing to help and neither have the council or hoteliers.

If they opened the door to these buildings then they would have a warm place to sleep.”
