Campaign to get local women behind the BUS wheel launched

A CAMPAIGN has been launched to urge Sefton women to consider a new career and get behind the wheel of a bus.

Stagecoach is behind the appeal and they have called on the services of former Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton to help them find local ladies to take on the job.

Currently only around 10% of Stagecoach Merseyside employ- ees are female, and the company is keen to attract more women into the industry.

To help get a better under- standing of the job, Natasha got behind the wheel of a Stage- coach bus to take it for a spin.

Natasha said:

“I’m so excited that I’ve just driven a bus for the first time in my life!

“Obviously it’s a lot different to driving a car but once I got the hang of it and got used to the size of the bus, I really enjoyed it and I have so much respect for the Stagecoach drivers that do this day in, day out.
