Cameras foil attempted car theft in Southport

Security camera footage of a man trying to steal a car in Southport has been released in the hopes he may be identified.

Footage from a home on Balfour Road in Southport has been shared online after a man was caught on camera in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday September 15th, trying the door handles of two cars.

Luckily both cars had been secured and the male, who has yet to be identified, quickly left the scene after trying the car’s door handles.

The owner of the cars has now warned others to make sure their properties are secured.

She said “Around 6.21am some little scruff tried our car doors down Balfour Road and also several other houses.

“This is happening far to often as not long ago someone managed to get into my dads car. If anyone recognises him please let me know.

“Please make sure you’re locking your cars, houses.”
