Radio regulator OFCOM has awarded an FM licence to Mighty Radio, Southport’s popular local community radio station. And it goes live on Monday April 1st at 8am on 107.9 FM.
We’re delighted to announce that Live Sounds, which provides a much valued and appreciated platform for local musicians, is part of the exciting Mighty Radio line-up.
Live Sounds began life more than 15 years ago as a weekly column by Martin Hovden in the Southport Champion and Southport Visiter and then went on to have a radio version with Southport Community Radio, Dune FM and Mighty Radio.
Live Sounds presenters Martin Hovden (pictured in Mighty Radio studio) and Cameron Maerevoet (pictured left with fellow Southport musician Ged Teevan) are now taking bookings from bands/musicians of all ages who want to join us in the studio. We play your music, interview band members and you’re very welcome to play live acoustic sets. It’s great fun.
We also want bands/musicians to send us your music in MP3 form or a CD to add to our extensive library of locally produced music.
We’re very proud of the fact that every minute of the show is devoted to local music, which quite rightly deserves to be supported and promoted on Mighty Radio.
You can message Martin Hovden via facebook or you can email martin.hovden@blueyonder.co.uk
Don’t miss our first Live Sounds show on Mighty Radioon 107.9 FM on Tuesday 2nd April from 6pm-10pm.
