Bypass partially closed after rear end shunt

Drivers along the Formby Bypass are facing long journey times tonight after a car accident near Lady Green nursery.

Two cars are partially blocking the southbound carriageway at the Lady Green junction, near to Starbucks this evening (10pm)

One car ended up colliding with a traffic light post after being shunted from behind by another vehicle.

The force of the impact has written off one car, while causing serious damage to another.

Fire crews and police have been called to the incident and traffic is slowly moving around the debris, although police are advising there may be lengthy delays as they await recovery for both cars.
