Bus drivers told to force nurses to cough up fare

Bus drivers in Southport say they are aghast after bosses told them not to give free rides to NHS staff.

Exhausted and drained health heroes fighting the Coronavirus pandemic are being told they won’t be getting a free ride after Arriva bosses said it was against their policy.

Penny pinching bosses have warned drivers of consequences should they offer nhs staff free rides on their busses.

They blame the Arriva Ticketing policy and will only make exceptions for concessionary pass holders.

The move has infuriated drivers and the local community.
