There was an excellent turnout this week when a Southport day service for people with disabilities and other support needs held its annual Christmas party.
Around 80 service users and staff members from the North Hub on Mornington Road in the town centre – run by Sefton’s leading adult social care provider, New Directions – headed to the lakeside Floral Hall for their festive get-together this year.
This was a bumper gathering of people involved with the centre, which also welcomes Sefton residents with support requirements due to age or mental health conditions.
There were plenty of eye-catching yuletide jumpers on show at the event, as everyone enjoyed a traditional three-course Christmas meal with all the trimmings, before throwing some shapes on the dance floor and partying the afternoon away.
North Hub Service Manager, Paula Scott, commented: “Looking back we’ve had some really good Christmas parties in the past, but this year’s celebration was something special.
“The staff at the Floral Hall went out of their way to way to make us all welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them throughout the afternoon and the food and other arrangements were all first class.
“We were delighted that so many services users were there to enjoy the event, which everyone agreed was a really great start to the festive season,” added Paula.
