Broken Pier boards claim another victim

A man has been lucky to avoid serious injury after catching his leg on a ten inch nail sticking out of Southport pier.

Jonny Rhodes tripped over the hazard whilst walking down the pier today and had to pull it out before anyone else got hurt.

Jonny said “there were several more like this nail and many parts of the wood are sinking and broken. I thought the pier had just been fixed?”

“Seems to me like this is a big risk to public health if they are not fixed soon”
