A Southport based Bolton fan is going above and beyond for his beloved club by walking 6 miles for unpaid staff.
This coming Saturday supporters plan to walk from the old Burnden Park site to the University of Bolton Stadium, collecting funds along the route to try and pay staff wages for those who haven’t been paid since the club fell into a financial black hole.
One fan is Matthew Lawrenson from Southport who will walk the long six miles as a show of support to his beloved Bolton.
Matthew said “I’m a Bolton fan that runs a supporters group and we are doing a sponsored walk next week from Burnden Park to the University of Bolton Stadium to raise funds for staff. It’s just over 6 Miles and I would like people to donate.
“Staff are relying on food banks because they have not got paid. They need all the help they can get.”
