What a blooming cheek as thief steals town flowers!
Love is certainly not blossoming on Lord Street. This man was caught on camera today in broad daylight stealing floral displays and plants which have been lovingly planted by the Lord Street in Bloom team.
An appeal has been launched in a bid to weed the culprit out and try and get back the plants. An eye witness, who got in touch with OTS News watched in amazement as the man, who was wearing dark blue jeans and a black overcoat, stuffed plants and flowers into a black binbag at the Lord West Gardens near to the junction with Duke Street.
It’s unknown at this time why the man has decided to take the flowers – perhaps they are for a cheap date – however the witness simply stuffed the flowers away and calmly walked onto a bus.
The bizarre theft will not impress the tireless workers of the Lord Street in Bloom group who are a welcome sight in the town, helping to make the resort bloom once more.
