Bizarre lost and found item recovered by baffled police

Baffled and amused officers were faced with a rather odd lost and found item this evening.

A shop-mobility scooter was abandoned near to Remedy Gin Bar shortly before 6:15pm this evening.

Eagle eyed traffic officers spotted the abandoned scooter just yards from a bus stop on the edge of Eastbank Street and called for a police van to safely transport the scooter to their Albert Road station.

It’s not yet known how or why the scooter came to be abandoned seemingly without care in the middle of Southport town centre, however one passer by remarked to OTS News that earlier two teenage girls had been seen running away from the police when they became agitated at the sight of a patrol vehicle in the area.

The scooter has been taken to Albert Road until such time as it is claimed by its rightful owner
