Environmental health bosses are investigating claims that a block of flats has resorted to using buckets as toilets in an upmarket area of Southport.
OTS understands that residents in an expensive part of Birkdale have launched a complaint to the environmental health department at Sefton Council after seeing neighbours use buckets as toilets in their rear passage.
Residents say the buckets are slowly piling up and causing a major health hazard.
One said “someone near to us is using buckets outside their back door as a toilet and the rubbish is piled up against the walls outside nearly as high as a door way. We are infested in rats but they don’t appear to be doing anything.
This is in birkdale and the problem is getting worse.
Now I have damp in my house due to the rubbish build up against the wall.”
