Birkdale Cop closed after serious collision

Birkdale Cop has been closed off tonight after serious collision on the bridge near Turfland (Sunday 6 August 2017).

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, remain on scene after two cars collided in bad weather conditions on the bridge near to Jacksmere Lane and Boundary Brook.

The injured occupants are currently being treated for a number of injuries, some thought to be considered serious.

The road has been closed off while Lancashire Police coordinate the emergency response to the accident. All traffic is advised to divert via Jacksmere Lane or Town Lane depending on the approach
