Merseyside Fire and rescue are currently tackling a blaze at the old Birkdale train station signal box, Thursday 19 September 2019.
Rail update
Due to a fire near the railway in the Birkdale area, the 11.58 Southport – Hunts Cross will now run non stop to Sandhills calling at Birkdale, Formby and Waterloo only. From Sandhills this service will call at all stations to Hunts Cross.
