A popular Birkdale bar has advised customers who drank in the premises last week to be tested for Covid-19, after a staff member came into contact with someone who had contracted the virus.
Rumah Bar and Kitchen are asking anyone who visited the premises on Tuesday 25th August and Wednesday 26th August to get tested immediately.
Rumah said on social media: “We were made aware last night that a member of staff has been in contact with a person who has tested positive for coronavirus.
The bar will remain closed while staff are tested.
“We have now taken immediate measures to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers by closing our doors to the public. All members of staff have now been tested and are awaiting their results. We are taking this matter seriously and are carrying out the procedures we have in place in case of such an event. As a precautionary measure we would like to ask customers who visited Rumah on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th to get tested immediately.
“As the bank holiday weekend begins we would obviously like to invite you all to join us but in these unprecedented times, everybody’s safety is of paramount importance to us and until our results arrive and are negative, we will have your safety first in mind.”
