Rotting garden waste and food scraps are causing ‘an unholy stink’ say furious residents who have now been waiting more than three weeks to have their bins collected.
Sefton council have made to apologise dozens of times in the past 21 days after a missed Bank Holiday Monday green bin collection in Southport spiralled out of control.
Now residents in Ainsdale say they have had enough.
Vera Shaw of Pinfold Lane wrote to OTS News to say “I have green and brown bins that haven’t been collected in weeks and the street is stinking.
“The smell is unholy there are hundreds of bins out on this street alone and when you get through to the council they just say sorry and tell you to wait.
“It’s not good enough. They can put the council tax up but then do even less for it? It’s ridiculous.”
