Formby’s MP Bill Esterson is clearly kept ‘out of the loop’ in respect of the problems affecting small businesses in his constituency. For he has gone on record as praising Sefton Council for providing free Christmas Parking over Christmas when the Bootle Labour Cabinet who, control the Council, have decided to make Southport pay this Christmas.
Mr Esterson went on record in the House of Commons this week to congratulate Sefton Council for helping out the small traders of the Borough in a debate on ‘Small Business Saturday’. Mr Esterson has recently been appointed by Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn as shadow Small Business spokesperson.
It seems that, Mr Esterson is ignored by Sefton Council when they make these decisions. Moreover, they do not even inform Labour Councillors what they are up to. Two of Mr Esterson’s office employees are Sefton MBC councillors.
