Biker seriously injured in busy Lord Street smash

Police have rushed to the scene of a severe accident on Lord Street just hours after the lockdown was lifted and cyclists and bikers were urged to take over the streets.

A motorbike rider was struck down and seriously injured after being hit by a car just yards from a similar fatal collision months earlier outside Christ Church on Lord Street.

The biker was struck by a car travelling at speed on a busier than usual Lord Street with many more people wandering down the Popular road.

The biker has since been taken to hospital for medical attention.
