A motorcycle rider has been rushed to hospital after his bike collided with a car in Southport Town Centre.
Emergency services were called to Lord Street near to St George’s Gardens just before 1pm today after a car struck a motorbike, injuring two people.
Paramedics say one male and an unidentified second injured person were taken to hospital where they remain to be treated for their injuries.
An investigation into the incident has now begun and the road has been fully reopened to traffic.
North West Ambulance Service said: “We responded to an RTC involving a car and a motorbike following a 999 call at 12.47
“Two patients have been taken to hospital.”
Merseyside Police told OTS News: “We can confirm that emergency services are in Southport following a serious RTC this afternoon, Monday 4 October.
“At around 12.50pm, we were called to Lord Street to reports of a collision involving a Mercedes car and Kawasaki motorbike. The rider of the motorbike has been taken to hospital for assessment of his injuries. The driver of the car stopped at the scene and both vehicles are to be recovered.
