An Ainsdale beauty salon is back in business following a major rebuild to repair the damage caused by a fire earlier this year.
Refine Beauty Clinic, on Station Road, has risen from the ashes and reopened its doors to clients after it was gutted following a freak chemical fire in April.
The clinic, which celebrates its 16th anniversary this month, has been completely ripped out, re-wired and re-plastered. A new ceiling and floor have been fitted, while modern furniture has also been installed to create a contemporary new look.
Owner Sue Drury and her colleague Dani Rimington, who has worked with Sue at Refine for 14 years, are now welcoming back clients old and new.
Sue said: “It’s absolutely fantastic to be back in business and have the new-look salon up and running again. The fire was devastating, and it’s been an extremely tough couple of months, but we’ve had lots of clients and well-wishers welcoming us back to the village, which has been lovely and will help us move on.”
Refine offers a wide range of beauty treatments, including nails, facials, pedicures, massages and waxing, as well as eyelash extensions, eye treatments and henna brow tattoos.
The parlour also offers a professional muscle relaxing clinic, provided by Gill Burke from Vitality Treatments.
Sue added: “The last few months have been very emotional and challenging. I took on the empty shop back in 2003, when I was recovering from ill health. But we managed to build the business up with the help of my family and especially my dad at the beginning, who sadly passed away last September. So, when the salon was destroyed by the fire it was extremely traumatic for everyone connected to Refine.
“But with the support of my family, Dani and our wonderful clients, as well as the great job done by the contractors, we’ve all pulled together and worked hard to renovate and re-open the salon in perfect time to celebrate our 16th anniversary.”
