Bosses at Beales Southport have been slammed for a cheap publicity stunt after claiming they were closing down.
The store has been plastered with huge closing down signs both inside and out with many concerned that a Lord Street staple was finally saying goodbye.
But it later emerged that small type on the posters said it was only closing temporarily for a refurbishment.
Many readers contacted OTS to say how heartbroken they were to see Beales, formally Broadbents, close down only to feel they had been lied to when OTS revealed that bosses were actually using a refurbishment as a cheap publicity stunt.
Many have said they will now boycott Beales for their stupid stunt.
