Eco protestors are furious after land surveys ahead of a proposed development near Bankfield Lane destroyed precious crops.
The barley which was due to be exported across Europe was destroyed by a number of heavy duty vehicles during a recent survey.
To make matters worse residents reported seeing contractors using fire extinguishers as piledrivers.
One worried resident said “The Japanese knotweed has been driven over too which will potentially spread this pernicious weed to other areas causing an ecological disaster. Many other concerns of ours remain unanswered by the council”.
